Fly Fishing on the Salt River
I've been the kid who draws pictures for as long as I can remember. In college, I trained as a graphic designer and pursued a career in Advertising. While raising a family, I put art aside to focus on the kids and the job. About 40 years later, I picked it back up during COVID and have been painting ever since. The journey continues.
I like all kinds of art, but my joy is realism, with landscapes as my primary subject matter. As my confidence grows, my approach has become looser and expressive with every painting. My philosophy is simple: If you're after a detailed reproduction, take a photo. However, a painting should feel like a painting.
I "see a painting" in the most ordinary places, wherever and whenever I travel. The world can be beautiful with endless possibilities of light and shadow, shapes and stories. For whatever reason, I am compelled to communicate what I see and experience in my own way. In the process, hopefully something beautiful emerges to enjoy.
I would love to help you start or add to your collection, get a gift for someone special, or paint a commission for your home or office. And if you see me on the trail, a river bank, or a mountain top, I'm on my journey. But stop and say hello! I would love to meet you!
